Tut-Tut, It Looks Like Rain

Several months after getting married, we moved into our very first apartment. It was a one bedroom apartment with a huge walk-in closet that was so massive, we joked it could be a second bedroom. During several powerful hurricanes (one of which was Sandy) we set up a shelter for ourselves and the cats inside that walk-in closet since it was smack dab in the middle of the unit, away from all windows and doors. I’m talking bedding, radio, emergency food, bags packed in case of evacuation. Our building was RIGHT next to the Delaware River, and once the water came right up to the back of our building. They said if it had gone any higher, we would have been evacuated. We were thankfully okay at the end. I present you with W’s “getting ready for Hurricane Irene look in 2011”:

Ready for anything.
